Meet Carmen G. West

Founder and President

Senior Human Resources Executive


Carmen is a Senior Global Human Capital Management & Change Transformation Executive. Leading and consulting with over 20 years of progressive human resources (HR) experience expanding diverse functions within human capital management, change management & cultural transformation, project management, and building high-performing teams. A servant leader who thrives on helping people at all levels be the best they can be --- to choose to be great!

Prior to starting West Advantage Human Resources in 2019, Carmen held several Senior and Executive positions with companies such as McGraw-Hill (formerly McGraw-Hill Education), NiSource, Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable), The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, Burgess and Niple, Inc., and DLZ Corporation. In Carmen’s leadership roles she executed Center of Excellence (COE) HR Operations people, programs/processes, and systems transformations across the globe.

A proud graduate of Bowling Green State University, Carmen has managed her career with purpose, accepting leadership opportunities that provided growth potential for herself, the companies, and the people she served. As a passionate HR leader, she quickly identifies the necessary action to produce the best results and is accredited for challenging her teams and individuals to achieve the unachievable.

Carmen has received various corporate awards and recognitions. Her public speaking engagements include Operational Process Excellence (OPEX) July 2017: “The Relationship between Culture and Engagement When Undergoing a Transformation” and OPEX World Summit January 2018: “Leadership Traits and Skills Needed to Drive Business Transformation”.

Carmen is the wife of an IT Professional and a former naval aviator. They now live in Anthem, AZ and enjoy traveling to experience different cultures, and giving back — paying it forward.
